I'm On My Way Song lyrics

People come and the people go Sometimes stopping to share their woes Times like these seem to go real slow There they go Some people say the best is yet to come Place their wages; stepping out into the sun Making some room to see their children run The worry none A man I saw on the street the other day Held a sign that read “don’t look the other way” And I thought time and time again why I should stay I’m on my way I’m on my way (Refrain) Can’t stop thinking about tomorrow When today’s around me everywhere What to do about tomorrow Sometimes I just don’t care My momma told me there’d be days like this She also said that I should never rest Doing all I could to make a difference To try to bless don't curse just bless (Refrain) I’m on my way I’m on my way Can’t stop thinking about tomorrow When today’s around me everywhere What to do about tomorrow Sometimes it’s almost clear Written 3/31/2009 6:05pm jaevans

2009 Black History Poem - Waco Poetry

My aunt Alice called today wanting me and my sister to read a poem at Church tomorrow for their BHM program. So, I sat down and wrote this today. The 2009 Poem “The remembrance originated in 1926 by historian Carter G. Woodson as "Negro History Week"[citation needed]. Woodson chose the second week of February because it marked the birthdays of two Americans who greatly influenced the lives and social condition of African Americans: former President Abraham Lincoln and abolitionist and former slave Frederick Douglass. Woodson also founded the Association for the Study of Negro Life and History, now the Association for the Study of African American Life and History.” “When the tradition of Black History Month was started in the US, many in mainstream academia had barely begun to explore black history. At that point, most representation of blacks in history books was only in reference to the low social position they held as slaves and their descendants, with infrequent exception...

What is this gibberish it's only hubris it might be dubious these words could be ridiculous compounded deviance and it ain't humorous but I can see the damage caused by what is ludicrous Let's take back all that's good clean up our neighborhoods get rap and thugs up outta here because they no damn good stand up and don't get jacked that preacher's Cadillac done robbed us blind with a slick beat but people take it back And every kid ain't nice dark can be bright as light just cause they're cheering doesn't mean that rapper's rap is tight if every body's yelling to just go start rebelling that's just a mob who hate their jobs and lives are probably failing Now that I said it twice don't be the scarifice that gets strung out and laughed about and loses most ya' life look and see what is good don't trust the neighborhood to teach you right from wrong they want you slintered like old wood (chorus) if I could say a thing or two to m...

Let It Ring - Black History Waco Poetry

And those tiny black and pink flecks littering a tiny desk finding places on pint sized blue jeans and upon earth colored carpeted floors are they signs of starting over of beginning anew of dusting one's self off oft times we forget that the past comes trailing along like the distinct smell of childhood the remembrance of what it felt like to be wide open and naive to the world and the self and the other continuations drawn out like hieroglyphics and the lights were off because now we know that the glow is as a horizon of heavy breathing and hope the shoulders have fallen in relief though the levee still is breached and angels wail while others writhe and love has pulled and tugged the tide with lunar essence undefined The gathering throngs of humanness the swelling pride of hubris the shackled minds of betrayed faith and God is full yet of all grace the turns and twists and storied plight the bold new day a nation's blight in one grand glorious vote of might we're staid F...
