Huck Hugh The Town Idiot

Huck Hugh the town idiot strapped a pillow case where within was a rubber ball to his head and fashioned himself to prance along the lane and jump down the town's only well. As he went careening down the well, we all hear a loud splash and then a thud.  Rosemary Raspberry delighted in the possibility of having work for her undertaker father. Soon we all hear, "I'm al'right." Huck Hugh uncrumbled himself from the fall. "I rather thought the well was deeper than it is."  Buttercup Buttons darts over with a long rope and drops it down the well to Hugh. "Oh, Dear! Oh, Dear," she exclaims. Buttercup was large and girthy. She is rumored to have lifted the Troptop's cow out of a  ditch single handedly after the rains washed the poor heifer away. The cow, not Buttercup. Rosemary Raspberry's smile soon withers into a frown. She turns back to the mortuary stamping her feet with steady disappointment.  You see her father dotes on her rather lavis...

Balls and Walls

Up against the wall goes the ball tossed with little able hands that somehow ran and ran and ran away from all her troubles Up against the wall goes the ball tossed with little able hands and the ball flies back to be tossed again away goes all her troubles Up against the wall goes the ball a hundred times or more and thought seems to disappear every doubt and every fear Up against the wall goes the ball in each moment space and time runs its course and days become years away goes all her troubles #showyourwork

Tatum Learns to Brush Her Hair With All of the Orchestra Standing There

Tatum sees the brush before her it greets She winces and blinks and taps her feet But the brush does not rush to her hand for the task When suddenly a band appears in a flash And they all say, “Do not fear!” We come to aid in all our sections, dear Let’s see what we can do to help out A tap gives the conductor; "ah-hum" he does spout The violins begin to play Take your brush and move this way They motion her to start at her temples She smiles a bit and shows her dimples The clarinets then play a tune And the brush begins to move straight through The flutes and piccolos do join in And suddenly hair is all but flying The sides are a bit more trouble, so the saxophones, Trombones, French horns and Oboes Take their cue and usher deep strokes To keep the brush paced with a good tempo Now we near the back or kitchen Tatum begins to start some twitching “hold fast!” says Timpani, Cello and Bassoon And Baritone, Tuba, and Bass ent...
