Candles

Candle one, Candle two, Candle three, Candle four It took more candles, more candles all on the floor Round Candles, Skinny Candles, Short Candles, Stout And every spot one was lit, the boy blew it out Could hardly imagine the time that it took to place all in the candles in crannies and nook No matter all the effort; imagine all the same How one boy found the stamina to douse every flame

Morning Mist and the Possibilities of Pallet Wood

Image
I have the awesome opportunity of working with this wood to create serving trays for a wood worker in Valley Mills, Texas. When you can discover great wonders of pecan or walnut under the wear and tear of these old pallets, it is a delight to the eyes and a strain on the planner.

Huck the Duck: In A Predicament

Huck the Duck wanted his dinner But, Huck the Duke could have been thinner He ate like a hungry furious baboon Never stopping to chew all the food he'd consume One day Huck went swimming as was his ambition When into the water he went on his mission And all of a sudden he started to sink He looked all around and started to think How in the world do I get out alive when suddenly he gave his wings a try But flap as he could he could not take flight Huck found he was too fat and he made worse his plight Out of the blue came a goose and a guinea They managed to grab poor Huck out in a jiffy When gotten to shore Huck was oh so delighted He pledged then and there to alter his diet The next time Huck went out for a swim He was lean and mean like he'd come from the gym He confessed that he ate far too much for his size and agreed to eat less and get more exercise

Conjured Delight

Fresh baked bread and chocolate chip cookies mixed together in the air as if an alchemist knew it would have a strange effect on me Stopped in my tracks and wondering where it is coming from my imagination is the source or this mockery I can almost taste them both warm both a bit chewy both bursting with flavor as they fill my mouth with unbelievable joy I am satisfied my expectations were not unmet and then a lemon rears it head And all I can do as it exposes itself to the knife is wonder as I cannot control the juices of resistance gathering around my tongue and in my cheeks no delight no delight

Morning Rain

Each Rain drop found a place to gently land in the puddle from the sky each let loose their parachute and glided through the early morning light the little splash would find its way to nearby blades of grass the grass would sway and feel refreshed as the sun gave rise the last drop fell and the trees gave a shake as the winds danced through the air refreshed are roses, refreshed are pansies, refreshed are lilies and shrubs and grubs, and little birds and squirrels and back to the earth the rain must return and back to the sky from above in the distance, the clouds make way to gather the day and spill forth the rains again but today the sun bathes the creatures below as if they never knew rain before

Two Creative Wood Works in Progress

Image
I am working on a prototype ladder and mini bed frame... I like the concepts. It is time to purchase other equipment to clean it up and round it out... To see both pictures, click on story. What else can we make? Blessings~

The Land of Nimb or The Land of Numb

In this land a warmth so envelops one that one dare not look straight on to see By contrast in this land there is no need to see or hear or feel or be

Aloe Plant

Image
There are five references to aloe in the Bible: John 19:39-40, Numbers 24:6, Psalms 45:8, Proverbs 7:17, Song of Solomon 4:14. We were asked during life group, "What plant best  describes you today?" My response was the aloe plant. Tough and intimidating on the outside, but healing balm is on the inside.  What plant best describes you today?

Good Fences Make Good Pedestrians

Image
Because I am behind on my three creative pieces a day, I have included more Fence row surrounding my property in need of painting. I almost got stung many times by the ants taking this photo.

Wooden Place Setting: Good Hands

Image
Pictured is a wooden place setting I made. I need to catch up on posting three creative works or producing three creative works a day. This was made November 2017. If you would like one made for yourself for a modest fee, do let me know. They are fun to make, and the cost is under 15.00 to make. Each one is approximately 19 x 13 x 1 1/4. But keep in mind shipping and handling and wear and tear on the equipment will have to be figured into the cost. Make an offer... but be fair! Dishes and utensils not included.  Blessings~

Thunder Toward The Sky

Image
This is the most persistent pecan tree I have on my property. She thunders into the distant sky in this shot. She loves where she is planted and produces the best pecans of all the 5 trees surrounding me.

Track: The Real Dog

Image
Now Track always entered the dog park looking for puddles, big round trees and squirrels to chase. This was his mission and in that order. Everyday Track would hear the occasional big guy with a pal dog of his say, "Now Track's a real dog!" or "That's what I call a real dog!" This always  made Track's head go sideways and his ears flip and flop. He just could not understand what was meant by this. He saws Dotson's, and beagles, and terriers go by. He ran with Shepherds and Greyhounds, and Huskies. He played alongside Labradors, Bulldogs, poodles and more, but could not figure out what a real dog he was. To him all the dogs were real and nothing fake or deceiving. They had tails and ears like his. They have coats of fur like his. The scratched their butts like him, and they licked their friends like him. They ran through puddles like him. They loved to cuddle like him. They jumped over tree stumps like him. They even fetched balls like him. They c

Tatum Learns to Brush Her Hair With All of the Orchestra Standing There

Tatum sees the brush before her it greets She winces and blinks and taps her feet But the brush does not rush to her hand for the task When suddenly a band appears in a flash And they all say, “Do not fear!” We come to aid in all our sections, dear Let’s see what we can do to help out A tap gives the conductor; "ah-hum" he does spout The violins begin to play Take your brush and move this way They motion her to start at her temples She smiles a bit and shows her dimples The clarinets then play a tune And the brush begins to move straight through The flutes and piccolos do join in And suddenly hair is all but flying The sides are a bit more trouble, so the saxophones, Trombones, French horns and Oboes Take their cue and usher deep strokes To keep the brush paced with a good tempo Now we near the back or kitchen Tatum begins to start some twitching “hold fast!” says Timpani, Cello and Bassoon And Baritone, Tuba, and Bass ent
